Another beautiful Autumn Glory Festival is in the books! The leaves were in perfect color and the temperatures were just right. The photo below was taken from the back side of the dam on Oakland Sang Run Road looking across the mountain toward Lodestone Golf Course. This weekend might be the last of the color and the forecast is saying 63º on Saturday. Lovin’ it!
This hickory tree, just across from St. Mark’s, is always a spectacle during our autumn festival. It stands out beautifully along the parade route. Kids and adults alike are always happy to see the caravan of Shriners making their way down Second Street. Griffin and Jensen had no problem with the clowns and were happy to offer a high five!
The real estate market is holding pretty strong. The market is more balanced now than I have seen it in 10 years. If Halloween thrills you (and/or your children) there’s plenty to do next weekend. Below are 2 events I’ve heard of and there are many others as well. Arrowhead & Uno’s are welcoming trick-or-treaters and several of the towns are holding festivities. Thursday evening is Oakland’s Halloween Parade at 6:00 with a social to follow at the Oakland Community Center. Trick or Treating in Oakland, Friendsville & Accident is on Saturday evening in the 6:00 time frame I believe. We’ll be lucky to get our 1 & 2 year-old boys to wear their costumes long enough to fill their bag!

GCC’s 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat!!!! Trick or Treating for kids 12 and under! Haunted House, Halloween Games, Contests, DJ & MUCH MORE!! Food & Refreshments For Sale. All individuals/businesses/organizations that plan on bringing a decorated car to distribute candy, must arrive by 11:00 a.m. to set up. Please donate a canned good or a gently used coat for admission. All proceeds to benefit Garrett Mentors. Canned goods and coats are being donated to Garrett County Community Action and GCC’s 3rd Annual Coat Drive.
