Deep Creek Lake fireworks are something that everyone looks forward to year-after-year. Due to COVID-19, many summer events have been cancelled. Keeping everyone safe it of utmost importance.
That being said, this favorite local event is NOT cancelled. The July 4th Deep Creek Lake fireworks are happening as scheduled. Much to the delight of area residents and vacationers, the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce is proceeding with their plans.
When are the Deep Creek Lake Fireworks?
The Deep Creek Lake fireworks are scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2020. They will begin at approximately 9:30PM. In the event of inclement weather, they will be held on the 5th at the same time. You can tune in to local radio stations: 104.5 WKHJ, 92.3 WKTQ, 95.9 WKTZ, 1050 WMSG radio for live updates on the status of the fireworks.
Where is the Best Place to Watch?
The fireworks are launched from Bear Claw Snow Tubing Park at Wisp Resort. No matter where you decide to watch, be sure you are always mindful of social distancing.
The Chamber of Commerce suggests these viewing locations:
- Scenic overlook along Rt. 219
- Wisp Resort
- Lawn at Garrett College
- Boat on Deep Creek Lake, particularly McHenry Cove
- Local Businesses in McHenry
Be sure to bring your camera or have your phone handy. You will want to capture this spectacular display as it reflects off the water.
