Springtime Weather Update Deep Creek Lake May 19, 2016. As the abundant and looming Springtime rain gives us a reprieve from its fury we start to understand again why Deep Creek Lake is such a special place to so many. On my commute to work this morning it was refreshing to see Blue Skies above me as the fog burned off the lake. You notice instantly all the springtime flowers that have been blanketed by rain over the last few weeks flexing their colors and reaching for the sky. The birds have come alive and are vibrant in their springtime splendor with the warm temperature returning like a welcomed friend.
The lake lures you in to her with perfect springtime glass that is common on windless mornings in Garrett County. The reflections off the mirror lake are hypnotizing and therapeutically calm in the mornings here as things slowly shift into a work day. On your next visit take some time to step out on the dock with a cup of coffee and a fishing pole and breathe. Leave the busy city life behind you and revel in the calm and solace that this wonderful area provides for so many.
