Greetings from Deep Creek Lake!
Well we have put another awesome fair week in the books here at Deep Creek Lake. Our four and three-year old’s, Griffin and Jensen, have made the week even more enjoyable. They surprised us by being tall enough to ride a considerable amount of “big kid” rides. The smiles and laughter will leave us with a lifetime of fond memories. The highlight was Saturday when they entered the Power Wheels crash-up derby event. It was a prelude to the real crash-up derby and let the youngsters experience bliss in their battery-operated 4-wheel cars & trucks.
This summer has really been great when it comes to the fresh seafood department. Local business Trout’s Seafood has introduced the lake to A++ seafood. They have consistently brought super fresh seafood to the area along with excellent customer service!
They have received a 5-star rating on their Facebook page, which I have never seen with a seafood store. Great crabs, clams, tuna, salmon and halibut as well as other weekly surprises. A must for seafood lovers on vacation!
Check my blog for information that might be important for any lakefront properties that have not yet decided to participate in the buydown program. This might be the last opportunity to take advantage of this program.

Summer sales at the lake have been strong! We are up 30% in volume over 2016. The median sales price is also up from last year – all signs leading to a healthy, balanced market. The end of the summer season is a good time to look at homes. Some owners that do not use their properties as frequently may be more inclined to negotiate rather than paying for the home through another winter. Plan your trip around an upcoming festival or the beautiful fall foliage and make it a weekend of new adventures!
