Within a half hour from the Deep Creek Lake area, you will find the historic village of Springs, Pa. It takes place October 5 and 6 from 9AM-5PM.  It is a celebration of the arts, skills and labors of our forefathers. When comparing to the average from the last 5 years, closed sales are up. Also, pending sales/contracts are up. Active listings are down, and the days on the market are down.  There are pockets of our market that are doing really well. We are even seeing  an occasional multiple offer situation.  Then there are other segments where properties are getting activity but moving at more of a pace we are used to seeing in G.C. with a 6-12 month average time on the market.  Nothing to complain about it.  Garrett County has been on the uptick for the past few years. Deep Creek Lake State Park Quick Guide

Deep Creek Lake State Park is a favorite spot during all four seasons. There are tons of fun activities, and the scenery is spectacular! Your entire family could easily spend the whole day here. Also many areas of the park are dog friendly!

Deep Creek Lake State Park Day Use Areas

The park encompasses about 1,800 acres. The day use facilities include the park’s waterfront and picnic areas. You can access it from 8 a.m. until sunset. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, there are two guarded swimming beaches. Bring your lunch, and take advantage of picnic tables and grills. There are three playgrounds as well. You can fish from the shoreline when you’re not playing in the sand with the kids.

Currently, Wisp Resort operates the Beach Hut at Deep Creek Lake State Park. They rent canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, beach chairs and tubes. Paddling into Carmel Cove is a great way to enjoy the scenery. Continue reading Deep Creek Lake State Park Quick Guide

Vegetables, fruit, locally raised meat, farm fresh eggs, honey and pottery are just a few of the items you can pick up. Also, my kids love it too! They enjoy helping to choose the different, brightly colored veggies to take home. It is truly a highlight of life in Western Maryland.
