Deep Creek Dunk Weekend Activities. There are 5 days until Deep Creek Lake celebrates our famous Deep Creek Dunk at The Honi Bar beside Uno Chicago Grill. Temps this week are going to rival spring, peaking at 65 on Friday. Speaking with our real estate manager this morning, we are not sure if it’s going to be easier/warmer for the dunkers or if it’s going to seem colder because of warm air temps. Regardless of the temperature, the event itself is the star and is always pure fun for event participants as well as onlookers whose numbers are in the thousands. Crazy costumes and cold water are all in good fun but raising money and awareness for the Special Olympics is the real reason for this wonderful event.
The Dunk may be the star but there are plenty of first class activities that piggy back on this popular weekend. Goose Bumps and Grapes which is presented by Uno’s bar and Grill, The Honi Bar, Arrowhead Market and Co-hosted by Taylor-Made Vacations and Sales on Friday, February 24 between 6pm-9pm. For a $20 cover, you can sample delicious wines around a roaring fire with Honi’s House Band rocking the crowd starting at 9pm.
Call Betsy Holcomb @ 301-616-5022 or email her at Betsy@deepcreekvacations.com to schedule a meeting to discuss the current real estate market and available properties.
The Davisson Brothers Band, who are loved and respected by locals and visitors alike, will be playing at The Greene Turtle Restaurant from 7pm to 10pm on Saturday. Please understand that this will be the rockin’ after dunk party at the lake! Book tickets through the DBB’s Facebook page. Don’t miss it!!
After you kick up your heels with the Davisson Brothers Band, head on over to the Black Bear Tavern and check out local favorite’s, The Terah Crawford Band at 9PM. Terah and her band provide talented and entertaining music with roots right here at the Lake!

From the data below, collected from our MLS system for Garrett County, you can see that August showed signs of a very healthy market. Our year-over-year and month-over-month figures were up in almost every category. Fall has always been a good time to look at Deep Creek real estate. The properties are easier to get access to and you get to enjoy the splendor of autumn with a colorful landscape. There are also great vacation rental specials now so you can spend more on dining & entertainment and less on accommodations.
It’s mid-September and we are transitioning into an absolutely gorgeous time of the year here at the lake. Temperatures are comfortably maxing out to the mid 70’s during the day and cooling down to the mid 50’s at night with very low humidity. It’s not quite feeling completely like fall but you can feel a subtle transition towards the season.
On the way to work this morning, I noticed the lake was free of any activity, be it boating or water sports. The winds, like most days this time of year, were very calm and the aura the lake gave off was both peaceful and soothing. It’s amazing how this affects everyone who lives and visits at the lake. Everyone I’ve run into today has been all smiles with a common discussion about the beautiful weather we are so fortunate to enjoy. I have mentioned this in the past many times, but if you can get here this time of year with your family you will experience a different and special personality of Deep Creek Lake. Maybe you need to unwind with your loved one and have a romantic get-away. This is the time of year where your focus can be crisp and clear like the weather surrounding you.
It’s also a great time to preview real estate since the crowds have thinned down and the rental homes are a little more accessible. Book a long weekend here at the lake and let Betsy Holcomb show you homes within your criteria. Start planting the seed now for your home here at the lake so you can enjoy these special surges in the season. Call Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations & Sales @ 866-351-1119 to find a great rental property to help enjoy your stay.

Springtime Weather Update Deep Creek Lake May 19, 2016. As the abundant and looming Springtime rain gives us a reprieve from its fury we start to understand again why Deep Creek Lake is such a special place to so many. On my commute to work this morning it was refreshing to see Blue Skies above me as the fog burned off the lake. You notice instantly all the springtime flowers that have been blanketed by rain over the last few weeks flexing their colors and reaching for the sky. The birds have come alive and are vibrant in their springtime splendor with the warm temperature returning like a welcomed friend.
